Custom Integrations With Downloads Modules

I have just finished converting the Premier Downloads module on my own site to work with the new Admin set up in phpnuke version 7.5.
Hopefully I will make the distribution available very soon, so if you are interested, please post here and I'll update shortly.

It sounds like the download module would actually do what you need.
It would just be a matter of removing the paid() function from the view download part of the script and therefore allow the contents list of the donloads module to be seen.
Then you would need to add the paid() function to whatever file is called to perform the actual download - thus interecepting the download and stopping it if the member has not paid.

I will try to look into this further but I am not a programmer in php so it might take me a little while.

Just to update this thread;
With the introduction of the Version 4.0 AlloyPayPal module, I am going to make a double downloads modules so you can have one for Silver Membership and one for Gold Membership.

This may take me a few days, as I said, I am not a coder in php so I hope you will be patient with me.

With regard to the EDL downloads module, I am not sure my downloads module will be compatible with this if the EDL module shares any files with the standard nuke downloads module. If the EDL module is a stand-alone module, then you should be able use it as a second download module for paying members, keeping the original phpNuke downloads module for registered members.

okay i installed a fresh copy of 7.5 and also installed the AlloPayPal 4.0. i am bringing all my tables over section by section... for now i am just using the the Default Downloads Module...

Ideally What I need is an option that would let me add a Permission To Each Individual Download giving access to it..

Gold Memership
Silver Membership
Registered Users
Anonymous

The all users can view the entire Download Section but if they are not part of the Gold Membership or what particular permission its set to and they tried downloading that file they would be denied access!! So the Download info would list the Permissions: Gold Membership

Like i said i really need this bad and i am willing to pay for it..

But if i can get the same type of functionality out of your Dual Download Module i would go ahead with that as that would work but not exactly as i described above..

What I had in mind was an almost duplicate of the standard phpNuke downloads module but obviously, they will need there own database tables etc to stop any conflicts.
You would not be able to set access permissions per file but you would be able to set permission per download module.

As I have mentioned in a previous post, I am not a php coder but have learnt from an example another member did for the pre phpNuke 7.5 downloads version - I am learning as I go along so it is a slow process for me but I will get there.

Good news, I am working on a simple mod to show all the files, and block the access to non paid members ! It should be ready in a couple of days !!!

Version 3 is made for phpNuke 7.5

As a quick work around, you could use the extra block that comes with the second downloads module to actually show the files that are in that download area - just like the original phpnuke downloads module.
To set the access rights to who can see the download module link, you set it as you would normally in Admin -> Modules, select edit and then slect the membership type; visitor/registered user/ subscriber/silver/gold etc.

I have done better.. ;-p I am adding right now to the original downloads module the option of choosing visible to Silver Gold or all members. And when you go to the downloads, all the files are visible, but the link is only visible to paid members.....;-p

Give me a few days to test it out, and I'll post it onto the site !

Its done ! Link available in the free download section, and the test site has the mod online. ONLY for Nuke 7.5 for the moment, it is 3:15 in the morning, I need to sleep sometimeS.... ;-p
